Do you have a hard time standing up from sitting?
Do you feel like a stiff old geezur?
When you get off your bike and try running, are you having a hard time standing up straight?
This problem happens to many people who sit too much, especially triathletes. They sit on the bike so much, that their hip flexors tighten up. And then when they start running they can not fully extend their hips. They start running with a short choppy stride. Their stride is 100% in front of them, like they a running up hill or with their butt sticking way back.
See the picture of the man with an anterior pelvic tilt.
Well if that is you or if that is how you feel, then you my friend better start stretching your hip flexors. Watch this video on how to do it safely without irritating your back.
Make sure you tuck your tail bone underneath your butt…tighten your buttocks to save your back. Make the stretch painfree. The stretch should be felt in the front of your hips.
